Food Labs is a hands-on cooking and nutrition education program. Activities may include using kitchen tools and equipment and working in a shared teaching-kitchen environment. By enrolling, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of participation.
Assumption of Risk
- Participation may involve risks including (but not limited to) cuts, burns, allergic reactions, slips/falls, and other injuries that can occur in a kitchen environment.
- You assume all risks of participation for yourself and/or your child, whether caused by ordinary kitchen hazards, other participants, or program activities.
- You agree to follow instructor guidance and safety rules during all sessions.
Release and Waiver of Liability
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and agree to hold harmless Diya Cares, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, instructors, and hosting partners from claims arising out of participation in Food Labs, except to the extent caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
- This waiver applies to claims for personal injury, illness, property damage, and any other losses arising from participation.
Allergies and Medical Needs
- You confirm all known allergies and dietary restrictions are disclosed during enrollment.
- You understand participants may be exposed to common food allergens in a shared teaching-kitchen environment.
- If a participant has a medical condition or requires medication (including an epinephrine auto-injector), you agree to inform Diya Cares in advance and provide clear written instructions.
Photo and Video Permission
Photo and video permission is collected during enrollment. If you do not consent, we will make reasonable efforts to avoid capturing your child in program photos or videos. You can also email info@diyacares.org with any updates.
